The Responder Training

 

 

 

C.F.R Training is demanding and is a process that takes approximately 12 months,

The Syllabus is as Follows:

Anatomy and Physiology

Cell Structure

The Cardiovascular System

The Respiratory System

The Nervous system

Advanced Care Skills

 

The Training

As a CFR you would be trained in the use of Several Airway management Devices

This is the most critical part of treating an unconscious casualty,

The administration of Oxygen and Entonox, A 50/50 Mix of Oxygen and Nitrous oxide, Used for the relief of pain

you would also be trained to use an Automated External Defibrillator

& Administration of the following Drugs

Glyceryl-tri-nitrate, This Drug is used during the treatment of Chest pain.

Adrenaline, This is used to treat life threatening allergic reactions.

Glucagon,A Drug Used for treating Diabetic Emergencies.

Fracture Management and splinting

you would be trained to deal with all manner of medical incidents, The most serious being of course Cardiac Arrest. The training you would undertake is an N.V.Q level 3 equivalent to that of a Staffordshire Ambulance Service Ambulance Technician. This is the same level of Training for all staffordshire Ambulance Service Community first Responders. In other Ambulance Services, Some of these Skills are Reserved for Paramedics Only.
